Several Greater Lansing high school football players have found plenty of success in the opening half of the regular season.
But who has been the most valuable so far in Greater Lansing?

Here is a look at some of the notable area individuals:
Kory Amachree, Haslett
The Kansas commit and senior running back has rushed for 621 yards and seven touchdowns this season for the Vikings, who are 4-1 and tied atop the CAAC Red standings with Williamston entering their big Week 6 showdown.
Kayden Dickerson, Portland
The senior running back has been a big part of a strong rushing attack and entered Week 6 with 598 rushing yards on 58 carries and seven touchdowns in just four games played for the 5-0 Raiders, who own a win by a forfeit.
Javari Funches, Everett
The Ferris State commit leads Greater Lansing in rushing and had 1,030 yards on the ground after four weeks. He has four 200-plus yard rushing performances this fall for Everett, which is 4-1.
Griffin Long, Morrice
The junior quarterback has 565 passing yards and five touchdowns and ran for 497 yards and 10 scores for the 4-1 Orioles.
Greyson Merchant, Ithaca
Merchant has thrown for 454 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 319 yards and eight touchdowns while contributing to a 5-0 start for the Yellowjackets.
Traverse Moore, DeWitt
The senior quarterback and Central Michigan commit has helped the Panthers to a 5-0 mark. He has rushed for 726 yards and 10 touchdowns and thrown for 375 yards and seven scores for the Panthers.
Kaleb Nielson, Williamston
The senior quarterback has thrown for 860 yards and 13 touchdowns through fives games for the unbeaten Hornets, who are tied atop the CAAC Red standings with Haslett.
Liam Patrick, Owosso
Patrick ranks among the area’s leading passers and rushers and has contributed to a 4-1 start for the Trojans. He enters Week 6 with 816 passing yards and nine touchdowns and with 510 rushing yards and six scores. Patrick also has 38 tackles.
Ty Thelen, Pewamo-Westphalia
The quarterback has been a key piece for the Pirates in their perfect start and had thrown for 484 yards and 15 touchdowns and rushed for 381 yards and eight scores entering Week 6. He also has four interceptions on defense.
