With Iowa women’s basketball on a recruiting hot streak over the past few weeks as top-tier talents have visited Iowa City, the program added another enormous name to the official visit list. 2026 five-star small forward Addison Bjorn scheduled an official visit to Iowa City.
Per 247Sports’ Dushawn London, Iowa is among the seven finalists for Bjorn, and the five-star recruit plans to visit Iowa City from Sept. 25-28.
That’s next weekend and coincides with Iowa football’s homecoming date against No. 17 Indiana from Kinnick Stadium, which should help make for a great weekend to showcase all of what Iowa City has to offer.
The 6-foot-2 small forward from Park Hill South High School in Riverside, Missouri, is the No. 9 overall recruit, the No. 2 small forward and the No. 1 prospect in Missouri on the 247Sports composite.
During her junior season at Park Hill South, Bjorn averaged a staggering 22.1 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 3.4 steals and 1 block per game on 56.7% shooting from the floor and 34.8% from 3-point territory, per MaxPreps.
In addition to Iowa, Bjorn is choosing among Notre Dame, UConn, North Carolina, Duke, Texas and Kansas.
Bjorn has already been to Chapel Hill. She took her first official visit to North Carolina the weekend of Aug. 31-Sept. 2. She visited Notre Dame Sept. 18-21. Bjorn intends to visit Duke from Oct. 2-5, UConn from Oct. 16-19, Texas from Oct. 30-Nov. 2, and Kansas from Nov. 6-9.
London reports the coveted wing is taking her time during her recruitment process and no decision timetable has been established.
“I’m looking for style of play and culture, especially relationships. I want to be close with all the coaches because that’s where I’ll be for the next four years.” – Addison Bjorn with 247Sports’ Dushawn London
The Hawkeyes’ recent tidal wave of momentum on the recruiting trail has fans excited, and Iowa will be able to pitch that fan base to Bjorn along with the idea that adding Bjorn to an already-talented young core would mean sky-high potential.
Given the pool of high-profile programs in the mix, the Missouri native’s recruitment could shape up to be one of the most-watched storylines in the 2026 class.
