New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo had a smashing performance in Dallas on Sunday. As a result, the league has taken notice.
Skattebo, running back Bhayshul Tuten (Jaguars), wide receivers Elic Ayomanor (Titans) and Tetairoa McMillan (Panthers), tight end Tyler Warren (Colts), as well as safety Andrew Mukuba (Eagles), are the nominees for the Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 2, the NFL announced on Tuesday.
Skattebo, a fourth-round pick out of Arizona State, took over the lead running back role from Tyrone Tracy Jr. in the Giants’ 40-37 overtime loss to the Cowboys in Dallas on Sunday. He amassed 53 total yards out of the backfield and had several rushes that energized the Giants’ normally docile offense.
