Winchester Community quarterback/linebacker Caleb Hummel has been voted The Star Press high school Football Player of the Week for week four, brought to you by IU Health.
Hummel was responsible for three of Winchester’s four touchdowns as the Golden Falcons defeated Centerville, 28-19. Hummel got the scoring started with a two-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter, then threw two touchdown passes in the second half. He finished 13-of-14 passing for 136 yards and two touchdowns and added 86 rushing yards with one rushing touchdown. Hummel also went 4-for-4 on extra point attempts.
Hummel received 10,401 out of 13,576 votes cast (76.61%). This week’s runner-up was Muncie Central running back/linebacker Landan Johnson, who garnered 1,795 votes (13.22%).
