Tom Hannan recorded a rare milestone Sept. 12, picking up his 100th win as a Portage County football head coach with Rootstown’s 48-8 victory over Brooklyn.
The Rovers (4-0) wasted no time as Alex Ely took the opening kickoff back for a 78-yard touchdown. Damien Reuting (eight carries, 114 yards) added two of his three rushing touchdowns before the quarter was through, and Blake Mullaly tossed a 36-yard TD pass to Max McEwuen as Rootstown led 28-0 at the end of 12 minutes. Mullaly (6-of-10 passing, 130 yards, two touchdowns) also had a 59-yard TD pass to Mason Lisi and Grayson Rantilla added a 13-yard TD run.
The Rovers defense impressed as well, holding the Hurricanes to just 142 yards of total offense.

Mogadore 28, Malvern 14
Conner Lehner and Maddox Smith helped the Wildcats rally from a 14-0 deficit against the Hornets, not to mention last week’s loss at Dalton.

Smith broke the tie with a 2-yard touchdown run.
Streetsboro 48, Coventry 6
Janiere Cook turning 16 carries into an absurd 318 yards and four touchdowns to help the Rockets bounce back from a Week 3 loss.
