This time, he did even more — and got the win.

Hill, a quarterback, ran for a school-record 347 yards on 29 carries, including a 17-yard score with 2:06 remaining, as the host Ceramics staved off a late Colt comeback bid to secure a 39-33 win in the Muskingum Valley League-Small School Division.

Down 39-26 with two minutes left, Bentley Sedor hauled in a pair of long passes to set up Michael Ray’s 1-yard scoring run with 1:21 to go. It cut the lead to six.

After freshman Ethan Wolfe recovered the onside kick for Crooksville, Hill converted a fourth-down play in the closing seconds to seal it.

Meadowbrook (1-3, 0-1) led 26-20 to start the fourth, but Hill dominated the final frame with scoring scampers of 77 and 35 yards, the latter of which sent the Ceramics to a 33-26 lead with 5:29 left. Kyle Lane’s interception set up Hill’s final score.

Crooksville improved to 4-0 for the first time since 2009 under coach David Rupe.

Tri-Valley 41, Morgan 7

Stone Spiker tossed a trio of first-half touchdowns for the Scotties (3-1, 1-0) in an MVL-Big School win at Jack Anderson Stadium.

Spiker hit Lincoln Gundelfinger for an 8-yard score in the first quarter and Ryan Lamonica for 1 and 15 yards in the second to spot Tri-Valley a 21-0 lead at the half.

Morgan (2-2, 0-1) cut the lead to 21-7 in the third, but Spiker found Lamonica again — this from 29 yards — to start a string of 20 unanswered points.

New Lexington 33, West Muskingum 7

The Panthers scored the game’s first 33 points for a second straight week and yielded just 64 yards to improve to 4-0 with an MVL-Small School win at Jim Rockwell Stadium.

Paul Stenson, who ran 12 times for 126 yards, reeled off a 60-yard touchdown run to cap a 96-yard scoring drive to open the game, then Colton Mathias followed a bad punt snap from West midway through the first with a 5-yard score that pushed the lead to 13-0 after Eli Dixon’s extra point.

A 10-play, 64-yard scoring drive that saw Tanner Toth catch a 19-yard pass and Stenson blast in from the 4 made it 20-0; a Harrison Ratliff fumble recovery inside the final minute of the half resulted in a 1-yard Stenson TD plunge. Toth caught a team-high 6 passes for 87 yards.

Mathias added a 4-yard run to end a 49-yard scoring drive in the third to cap the Panthers’ scoring. He finished with 69 yards on 15 trips as New Lex ran for 296 yards on 39 carries.

Braxton Brownrigg’s interception return for a score in the fourth was the only West M score.

Brooke 24, Cambridge 14

Despite still looking for that elusive first win, the Bobcats continue to show positive signs with holding a 14-7 lead over the Bruins at the halftime intermission.

CHS sophomore QB A.J. Lawrence scored on a 12-yard run, and then connected with Damian Kissinger on an 18-yard scoring strike to build the first half lead.

Lawrence hit on 6 of 10 passes for 58 yards with a TD, and then led the Bobcats (0-4) ground game with 66 yards on 17 carries with a touchdown.
