Richmond gas station sells $50,000-winning Powerball lottery ticket

RICHMOND, IN — While the $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot was claimed in Missouri and Texas on Saturday, Sept. 6, a $50,000-winning Powerball ticket was sold at the Rose City Quick Pix at 1304 Industries Road.

The ticket was one of five statewide to win $50,000. The other tickets were sold in Bunker Hill, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Valparaiso, according to the Hoosier Lottery.

Four tickets led to a $100,000 prize in Indiana; those were sold in Auburn, Lafayette, Lapaz and Portage.

Richmond has received quite a bit of luck when it comes to buying lottery tickets. In 1998, someone won a $295.7 million jackpot. Then, in 2007, someone won a $314 million jackpot. There have been several other big winners in Wayne County over the years in other drawings.

The winning numbers from Saturday’s lottery are: 11-23-44-61-62 with a Powerball of 17 and Power Play of X2.
