Iowa State football checks in at 14th in the new US LBM Coaches Poll, released Sunday, Sept. 7. The Cyclones were previously ranked 18th.
The Cyclones improved to 3-0 on the season with a tightly contested 16-13 rivalry win over Iowa. For the second consecutive year, kicker Kyle Konrardy delivered a game-winning 54-yard field goal to bury the Hawkeyes. Iowa State football beat Iowa in Ames for the first time since 2011.

A borderline miraculous play, in which Gabe Burkle corralled a third-down pass after it was tipped by another Cyclone, helped set up Konrardy’s dagger.
Up next, Iowa State plays at Arkansas State on Sept. 13, before jumping back into Big 12 play.
The Cyclones also are No. 14 in the new Associated Press poll, released Sunday, Sept. 7.
