When it comes to breeds, according to a recent study released by U.S. News & World Report, there is a strong probability you will see one of these breeds, or, according to the 2025 report, the three most popular breeds in Florida:
According to U.S. News & World Report this study was initially published in 2024 but was updated in August 2025 to reflect a more recent round of additional research.
The top three breeds in Florida are all in the nationwide Top-10 breeds list − Chihuahua (2), French bulldog (6) and Goldendoodle (7).

For our 2025 popular dog breed report, we analyzed 1,261,285 data points from Fletch, a third-party pet insurance industry partner, from January 2022 to July 2025. The data points analyzed included dog breeds and dog owner ZIP codes and state residences, which were filtered to show the most popular dog breeds within all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
