Enjoy Oktoberfest celebration

Zion Lutheran Church of Petoskey is hosting its annual Oktoberfest celebration, dinner and silent auction on Saturday, Sept. 6.

There will be live music by Owen James and the Feels, a bounce house, a root beer garden, soft pretzels, yard games and a grilled bratwurst and fried chicken dinner at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the Nehemiah Project.

The fun begins at 4 p.m. For more information, visit facebook.com/events.

GLCO kicks off 25th season

The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra will launch its milestone 25th season with Beethoven’s Eroica and Mozart’s Concerto for Two Pianos.

The concert is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6 at the John M. Hall Auditorium in Bay View. The performance features guest piano soloists Tony Patterson and Casey Robards.

Tickets, with assigned seating at $35, $45 and $65, are available at glcorchestra.org/concerts.

Antique tractors on parade

If you’d like to see antique tractors make their way across the Mackinac Bridge, you’ll want to head over on Saturday morning to see the Antique Tractor Parade.

The parade is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6 from the south staging area in Mackinaw City.

According to mackinacbridgecrossing.com, the public is welcome to view the tractors all weekend at Little Bear Area in St. Ignace. There will be games, a kids pedal pull, a tug of war, food trucks, yard games, a raffle and more.

Cheer on the Lions!

Whether you watch from home, a bar, a friend’s house or somewhere else, tune in for the Detroit Lions’ first game of the regular season.
