The Bucs were banged up coming into the season, and they knew they would be short a few players on offense. Key starters like offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs and wide receivers Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan. However, in 2024, it was the defense that was beaten up the most, so how does it look heading into Week 1?
In the first injury report of Week 1, the Bucs have a total of nine players on it.

On offense, the team had the players above, with McMillan not being listed due to being on injured reserve. Joining them is tight end Cade Otton (groin), who was limited, and running back Sean Tucker (hand), who practiced in full. Otton had been missing time, but this marks the second day his workload has ramped up.
On defense, three players did not practice today: defensive lineman Vita Vea (foot), defensive back Christian Izien (oblique), and linebacker Haason Reddick (rest). Joining them were also two cornerbacks, in rookie Benjamin Morrison (quad), who was limited in practice, while Josh Hayes (ankle) was a full participant.
Morrison has missed all of the preseason and training camp after being drafted in the second round by the team. Todd Bowles and the Bucs defense are eager to get him mixed into the fold, and he continues to work his way back. However, even if he practices all week, it is unknown how much of a role he could play in Week 1.
