The forecast in Orchard Park calls for a “Cold Front,” and it’s arriving in uniform form.
The Buffalo Bills officially unveiled their new Rivalries uniform on Thursday, part of Nike and the NFL’s alternate uniform series debuting this season. The look will be worn once per season, starting when the Bills host the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. on Oct. 5 in Week 5 at Highmark Stadium.
According to the Bills, their Rivalries uniform, aptly named the “Cold Front,” was crafted over a two-year process in collaboration with Nike, intentionally designed to embody the city’s wintry spirit.
It leans into Buffalo’s winter identity. The traditional red is gone, replaced by wintry tones:
Buffalo is one of eight NFL teams to debut a Rivalries look in 2025, joining the rest of the AFC East (New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins Dolphins, New York Jets Jets) and NFC West (San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks).
According to the NFL, each uniform in the Rivalries series is “rooted extensively in local community insights,” inspired by the history, culture, and visual identity of each city.
Bills have multiple new uniforms looks in 2025
This marks the third unique uniform the Bills will wear this season, and the only one created from scratch.
Teasers leading up to the reveal
Buffalo had been teasing the Rivalries uniform drop for a month. On July 25, the team posted a cryptic on social media with the caption, “Might be chilly ”, showing a No. 0 Keon Coleman jersey buried in snow as icicles rapidly formed on the fabric.
Another video featured Josh Allen slowly opening his eyes to reveal glowing ice-blue pupils, captioned simply, “Winter is coming. ”
There was wonder as to what would inspire the design. Could it be harsh winters, blue-collar grit, the city’s industrial legacy, Niagara Falls, the Buffalo skyline, Buffalo wings? Now the final product is here.
