Steuben County Property Tax Auction starts Sept. 3. What's for sale in Hornell, elsewhere

The 2025 Steuben County Real Property Tax Auction is right around the corner.

The auction is held completely online, with bidding beginning at noon, Wednesday, Sept. 3 and ending on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Moyer Auction & Estate Co., Inc. is conducting the sales.

The 100-plus auction parcels include residential homes, commercial buildings, investment properties and vacant and recreational land in some 30 Steuben County municipalities.

The list of properties to be sold was released Aug. 4. All properties are offered for sale to the highest bidder. There is a $50 minimum bid requirement for each parcel when no reserve has been established.

The auction has 20 properties in the city of Hornell, including a pair of three-family residences on North Main Street. This listing includes each property’s address and tax map numbers for vacant land properties.
