The Texas high school football season is a few short days away. Teams from across the Lone Star State are preparing for the season with fall practices and scrimmages in pursuit of a district championship, postseason success and the chance to play for a state title at AT&T Stadium in December.
Earlier this summer, the San Angelo Standard-Times released its list of the top West Texas and San Angelo area high school football players at seven positions — quarterback, running back, receivers, offensive line, defensive line, linebacker and defensive back.
Last week, fans from the area voted on who they believed were the Offensive MVP and Defensive MVP heading into the season.
This week, we’re asking fans to vote for which player they think will have the best season. The players listed in this poll are included in our top position lists and top 100 player list. Nominations were limited to one per team.
The poll will run for a week, starting Wednesday, Aug. 27, and the winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
