DAYTONA BEACH — Connor Zilisch will start upfront in the last NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway.
No, the secondary circuit isn’t going away, but its name is changing. It’ll be the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series next season.
But before then, Xfinity will enjoy its final Daytona hurrah, the Wawa 250, at 7:30 p.m. Friday. It is the third-last event of the series’ regular season, and it will air on The CW, setting the stage for Saturday’s Coke Zero Sugar 400.

Joining Zilisch on the front row will be Sam Mayer. Qualifying was canceled due to bad weather in the Daytona Beach area. Fifteen drivers were able to compete in qualifying, but 23 were not.
As a result, the grid was set by metric.
