The Kings Island amusement park in Mason announced this month that its blacklight, monster-themed laser gun ride, Boo Blasters on Boo Hill, will close to “make way for future development.”
Guests have until Sept. 1 to take their final rides on Boo Blasters “before its curtain is closed for good.”
That leaves us wondering: What’s next for the Boo Blasters building?
The area was once Enchanted Voyage from 1972-1983 before becoming Smurfs’ Enchanted Voyage in 1984. Phantom Theater then took over the space in 1992 and operated through 2002, when it became Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle and later Boo Blasters in 2010.
So, what SHOULD be the next attraction to take Boo Blasters’ place? We have some ideas. Vote for your favorite in the poll below. (On Aug. 21, Kings Island posted a cryptic teaser video that has us leaning a certain way.)
