David Jacobs is one of the best players in the 2027 recruiting cycle and a priority target for the Florida State Seminoles. The five-star edge visited Tallahassee over the spring and recently admitted that FSU is among the schools standing out in his recruitment.
“Florida State, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M are standing out right now,” he told Rivals. “They’re showing real interest and keeping in contact. I am open and it is still early, but those schools recruit me hard.”
He will be back in Tallahassee on Aug. 30 for their season opener against Alabama.
“They’ve got the whole staff recruiting me,” he said. “That’s why I’m going to see them play Alabama. I want to see how they look and how the staff works together on game day.”
Jacobs is ranked as the No. 11 overall player and No. 3 edge in Rivals’ industry ranking. The Roswell product is also the No. 2 player from Georgia.
He had an excellent sophomore season for Blessed Trinity, leading them to an 11-2 record and being named a Sophomore All-American by MaxPreps. Jacobs finished the season with 116 tackles, 31.0 tackles for loss, 11.0 sacks, and three blocked punts.
FSU has an advantage in its pursuit of Jacobs, who has a special connection to associate head coach Odell Haggins. Haggins actually recruited his father when he was a recruit, and while he ended up picking the Georgia Bulldogs over the Seminoles, the two still have a relationship.
