What happened on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ last night? See who got roses, who went home

Last week’s episode of “Bachelor in Paradise” raised the stakes for the contestants, who now all have a chance at going home up to $500,000 richer, depending on how strong their relationships become in the next few weeks.

And that’s not the only news host Jessie Palmer dropped. He also announced that there will be no new additions to the beach, only “relationship tests” for the remaining couples. Last week’s rose ceremony was also different, allowing one couple to choose who would go home.

This week, the competition came with another change. On last night’s new episode, all of the contestants got to vote on which couple they wanted to eliminate. And this change wasn’t in the favor of one Floridian on the beach, who found himself on the chopping block for the second week in a row.

Last week, it seemed Brian could go home because Jeremy and Bailey got to choose who wouldn’t get a rose, and he and Jeremy share a negative past of butting heads. This week, the public opinion on the beach shifted against him when he decided to tell Bailey a secret Jeremy was keeping from her.

Here’s a quick recap of what happened on “Bachelor in Paradise” last night, who’s still on the beach and how to watch the show.

What happened on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ last night?

Last night’s new episode of “Bachelor in Paradise” was the first ever in which all of the contestants there voted for who would go home.

And the men had the roses for the upcoming rose ceremony, which meant the contestants would have to choose one man who wouldn’t get a rose to hand out. By association, this meant that whoever the man was coupled up with would also go home.

Most of the episode revolved around Floridian Brian’s standing with the whole group of contestants. Many of the other contestants lost trust in him after he decided to tell Bailey that her partner, Jeremy, had been keeping a secret from her. In the earlier days of “Paradise,” Jeremy’s head was turned by Susie, who ended up going home one day after arriving.

Most of the contestants, including Bailey’s friends, knew that the day after Susie left, Jeremy called her to ask her to come back and said he felt like he’d made a mistake when he gave Bailey his rose.

Several rose ceremonies have come and gone since then, but on last week’s episode Brian started saying he felt he had to tell Bailey about Jeremy’s dishonesty in light of the cash prize being revealed. He did end up telling her, praising her character and saying that he didn’t want to see her be manipulated or hurt by Jeremy.

It should be noted that Brian and Jeremy have historically butted heads since their time as contestants on Jenn Tran’s season of  “The Bachelorette” together.

Although many fans watching and tweeting about the show from home seemed to agree that it was the right thing, the other contestants turned on Brian for telling her. Most of the contestants condemned Brian for how he handled the situation, questioning his motivation and saying it wasn’t his place. Brian’s choice to tell Bailey about Jeremy ultimately landed him on the chopping block before the first vote-based rose ceremony.

Most of the men voted to boot Brian from the beach this week, but it was the women’s votes that saved him and Parisa for another week. In the end, it was Kim and Faith who went home, leaving only one “Golden” couple still on the beach: Kathy and Keith.

Jeremy and Bailey ended the rose ceremony on good terms as a couple.

Who was eliminated on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ last night? See who got roses

Here’s who got roses on last night’s episode of ‘Bachelor in Paradise’:

The contestants voted not to give Kim a rose, since he’s been having some minor heart complications. Since Kim and Faith were paired, Faith was also eliminated as a result.

Who has gone home so far on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’?

Since the “Bachelor in Paradise” premiere last month, 19 people have been dumped from the beach so far:

‘Bachelor in Paradise’ introduces $500K cash prize

For the first time on “Bachelor in Paradise,” there will be a cash prize up for grabs for the most solid couple that makes it to the end of the show. Palmer revealed the final prize is $500,000.

This isn’t the first time the franchise has put up a cash prize to help (or hinder) the cast in their journey to find love.

Back in 2010, ABC aired reality TV competition “Bachelor Pad,” where contestants from “The Bachelor” franchise competed for a final cash prize of $250,000.

When is the ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ finale?

The Bachelor in Paradise finale will likely air on Sept. 1, if the show follows the typical format of 10 episodes. The first NFL Monday Night Football game airs on ABC on Sept. 8, which is an indicator that BIP will end the week prior.
