Timken Co. continues search for CEO, releases Q2 earnings

JACKSON TWP. − The search for a new chief executive officer at the Timken Co. is ongoing, interim president and CEO Richard G. Kyle said during an investor presentation on July 30.

“Interest in the role is strong, and members of the search committee are confident that we will soon identify the next leader to take Timken to new levels of performance,” he said during a call about second quarter earnings. “In the meantime, we continue to advance the company along the same strategic path.”

Kyle said the company’s management team is experienced and able to advance Timken as a “global technology leader” in the engineered bearing and industrial motion industries while the board of directors finishes the search. A Timken spokesman said the company would share no further information about the timeline or candidates.

Kyle was CEO before Tarak B. Mehta, who resigned in March after about seven months with the company, which is headquartered at 4500 Mount Pleasant St. NW. Mehta was expected to relocate from his position as president of motion business at the Switzerland-based electrification and automation company ABB, but personal matters prevented his move, according to the company.
