Who is Saniyah Hall? What to know about the No. 1 girls basketball recruit, Ohio native

The Ohio native is the No. 1 girls basketball recruit in the country for the class of 2026, and she recently made her college commitment.

A 6-foot-1 guard, Hall is likely to be a top prospect on the WNBA’s radar following her upcoming collegiate career.

Where is Saniyah Hall from? Where did she play in high school?

Hall was born in Lorain, Ohio, located on Lake Erie.

She began her high school career at Laurel School, a private school for girls in Shaker Heights, Ohio. While there, she was named the Northeast Lakes District Player of the Year and a finalist for Ohio Ms. Basketball.

In August 2024, she transferred to Montverde Academy in Florida, averaging 20.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.4 blocks per game as a junior.

In June 2025, Hall transferred again to SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio.

Saniyah Hall commits to play college basketball at USC

In July of 2025, Hall went on ESPN’s NBA Today to announce her college commitment, which wound up being the USC Trojans.

Hall committed to USC over other schools including UCLA, South Carolina and North Carolina.

Does Saniyah Hall have any NIL deals?

On July 8, 2025, Hall signed an NIL (name, image and likeness) deal with Nike’s Jordan Brand.

She wore a Jordan Brand jacket during her college commitment announcement on ESPN.

Saniyah Hall is a FIBA gold medalist

In 2024, Hall was named to the United States under-18 3×3 team for the FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup that was held in Hungary.

She scored eight points in the championship game against Japan, guiding the U.S. to victory and a gold medal.

In 2025, Hall was named to the United States under-19 national team for the FIBA Under-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup. She again helped the U.S. win a gold medal by averaging 19.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.9 steals and 1.1 blocks per game throughout the tournament. She scored 25 points, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out seven assists in the finals against Australia.

For her efforts, Hall was named the FIBA Under-19 World Cup MVP.
