Where does Indianapolis Colts roster rank in training camp? Not very highly by ESPN

With training camp underway, ESPN analysts Mike Clay, Aaron Schatz, and Seth Walder ranked each NFL roster. So where did the Indianapolis Colts land on this list?

Well, the ESPN trio isn’t very high on the team that GM Chris Ballard has put together, with the Colts coming in at No. 25.

With the question marks and unknowns that the Colts have at quarterback, I get that they are only going to be so high in these rankings. However, as I was scrolling the list to see where they landed, I didn’t think it would be this low.

Around Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones is what I believe is a lot to like. The Colts have what should be another stout offensive line unit, one of the most productive running backs in the game, and they were the only team to have three wideouts each eclipse 800 receiving yards in 2024, even with up-and-down quarterback play.

Joining that group this season is Tyler Warren, considered by many the top tight end in this year’s draft, and someone who brings a do-it-all presence to the offense.

On defense, the secondary has been reshaped with the additions of Cam Bynum and Charvarius Ward. Not to mention that the addition of Lou Anarumo with his more aggressive and disguise-heavy defense should elevate the entire unit.

And, of course, under Ballard, the defensive front continues to be a position that is heavily invested in, both in terms of salary cap and draft capital.

As I’ve said previously, with just some steady play from under center, the recipe is there for the Colts to be in games and get some wins.
