A crash involving three semis on Interstate 70 near West Jefferson shut down all eastbound lanes of the road for a portion of the Columbus morning commute.
The highway reopened by early afternoon, hours after the crash that happened shortly after 8 a.m. July 24 west of Plain City Goergesville Road.
All eastbound lanes of the road were closed until at least 9 a.m.; at 9:20 a.m., a dispatcher with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said one eastbound lane was open.
The Ohio Department of Transportation posted on X stating that the road was closed in Madison County, but did not say when it might reopen.
Live ODOT traffic cameras showed significant traffic approaching the crash at 9 a.m., and Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers redirecting vehicles away from the closure.
The highway patrol dispatcher couldn’t say whether anyone was injured in the crash.
