A new shuttle bus service from American Airlines operated by Landline is designed to allow passengers to fly out of O’Hare International Airport, but with the shorter lines and lower level of hassle offered by Chicago Rockford International Airport.
Passengers will be allowed to clear TSA security and check their bags at the Rockford Airport, then travel via Landline shuttle bus to their American Airlines flight out of O’Hare. Buses offer leather seats, complimentary entertainment, Wi-Fi and power outlets in each seat.
“With this service, our passengers will be able to combine the hassle-free experience of RFD with the domestic and international connections with American Airlines,” Executive Director Zachary Oakley said. “We are very excited for the opportunity to partner with both American Airlines and Landline to bring this service to the region.”
The shuttle takes about 1 hour 35 minutes between destinations. It is meant to be booked much like a connecting flight via the American Airlines network.
The service is set to begin operations Oct. 20.
Shuttles will leave Rockford for O’Hare at 5:55 a.m., 7:35 a.m., 11:05 a.m., 4:25 p.m., and 6:15 p.m. Shuttles will leave O’Hare for Rockford at 8 a.m., 940 a.m., 1:10 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 820 p.m.
Tickets are available via aa.com or the American Airlines mobile app.
