Intriguing power forward prospect has his sights on Florida State

With school not in session during the summer, basketball prospects who want to increase their stock are left with two options, both of which are probably undertaken in some capacity: practice a lot and join a summer league like Nike’s EYBL.

For power forward Quinn Costello of The Newman School in Boston, Massachusetts, these two choices have boosted his stock in terms of collegiate recruiting greatly. In playing in the Under Armour circuit for the Middlesex Magic, Costello has gone from unranked on 247Sports to a top-75 nationally ranked prospect.

Currently, he is the 72nd-best player in the country but the number one prospect out of the State of Massachusetts. He is also the 12th-best power forward prospect overall.

The class of 2026 prospect has not been shy about talking about universities’ attempts to recruit him. He told 247Sports’ Dushawn London that: “I’ve heard from new schools like Florida State and Villanova, and then there are the ones who’ve been showing up for me the most like Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Purdue, and other schools.”

With respect to Florida State, he said, “The thing about them is they all come from an NBA background, so the No. 1 thing they bring is NBA experience. They can potentially get me to the league pretty quickly.”

Costello will cut down to his top schools in either September or October.
