Several sale days have a theme. Saturday is the traditional members-only day, when Friends members can shop from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Memberships will be sold at the door for various prices, including $5 for individuals ages 15 and older.

Hours on other days vary. On Aug. 3, sale hours are 1 to 5 p.m. From Aug. 4-6, the sale will run 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

On Aug. 5, mystery boxes of books will be sold throughout the day. Containers of hardback fiction and non-fiction will be sold for $5, and boxes of fiction and non-fiction paperback will be sold for $3.

On the sale’s final day, Aug. 6, the sale will be “pay by donation” all day.

The event also will have raffle basket fundraisers, with tickets for $1 apiece, or six for $5.

Organizers have worked to make shopping easier, with a tub corral provided on Saturday and Sunday, where large quantities of books can be counted and priced.

Hardback books will be $1 apiece, while paperbacks will be sold for 50 cents. Oversize and coffee table books will be sold 3 for $1. Magazines will be 10 cents apiece, or 12 for $1. Children’s books will be sold for 25 cents apiece, or five for $1. CDs and DVDs will be $1 per disc.

Visitors to the sale should park at Rodman Public Library, across the street from Alliance Commons, and enter through the Linden side of the building.

Organizers say 50% of the inventory has been donated, and 60% is hardcover books. Along with a wide assortment of children’s books, 75% of the other books are non-fiction.
