BOYNTON BEACH — A 31-year-old man riding a bicycle was killed late Friday night in a collision with an SUV driven by a man whom police say was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Juan Rolando Villeda Rivera of Boynton Beach was traveling southwest across Congress Avenue at Buccaneer Road just before 11 p.m. July 11, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday. Angelo Munguia, 24, also of Boynton Beach, was traveling southbound on Congress Avenue in a 2022 Toyota Venza when the SUV and the bicycle collided.
The sheriff’s office report did not say how the accident occurred.
Villeda was pronounced dead at the scene. Munguia sustained minor injuries and was taken to JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, deputies said.
Sheriff’s deputies noted in their report that Munguia was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and that charges are pending.
