The wait to see what transfer quarterback Mark Gronowski can bring to the Iowa Hawkeyes is almost over. With fall camp right around the corner, anticipation is growing around his talent and what it could mean for the Hawkeyes, pairing him with offensive coordinator Tim Lester.
Lester, entering his second year with the program, kick-started Iowa’s offense last year and dragged them out of the cellar of college football offensive misery. He now gets a supremely talented quarterback in Gronowski, who can do a bit of everything, to try to take the next step.
During some media time, Gronowski was asked about how he feels going into fall camp and where his confidence lies within himself and the Iowa offense as a whole under Tim Lester.
“I feel 100% comfortable with the offense right now. Working with Coach Lester, the other quarterbacks, the receivers. I’m spending a lot of time on my own watching film study. I feel really good with the offense,” Gronowksi said.
“Even this week, we’re just kind of doing our own prep because the coaches are all on their vacations, so the quarterbacks had to do the playcalls this week,” added Gronowski.
Mark Gronowski enters 2025 with a lot of expectations on his shoulders, but that is something he is familiar with and even comfortable handling. While at South Dakota State, the Jackrabbits had a target on their back.
Gronowski didn’t flinch, as he won two FCS national championships despite being at the top of the food chain, with every team giving their best shot against him. If he can bring that attitude to Iowa, Tim Lester and the Hawkeyes get to unlock a new door for their offense.
