A pair of road construction projects in Livingston County are set to begin July 14 and will affect traffic, alongside other ongoing detours in the area.
Eight Mile Road in Green Oak Township
Construction is scheduled to begin July 14 on Eight Mile Road between Dixboro Road and Earhart Road in Green Oak Township, according to the Livingston County Road Commission. The project is expected to be completed by Aug. 29, weather permitting.
While crews replace a culvert, Eight Mile Road will be closed between Dixboro Road and Earhart Road at the Walker Drain, according to LCRC.
Argentine Road in Deerfield Township
Construction is also set to begin July 14 on Argentine Road at East Dean Road in Deerfield Township. The project is expected to be completed by Sept. 19, weather permitting.
While crews replace the culvert over Cranberry Creek, Argentine Road will be closed at East Dean Road, according to LCRC.
Motorists must follow posted detours for both projects.
I-96 Brighton Project
The on-ramp from Latson Road to eastbound I-96 will be closed beginning at 5 a.m. July 10. It’s expected to reopen at 5 p.m. July 29. Traffic will be detoured along westbound Grand River Avenue to southbound D-19 to enter eastbound I-96.
A full closure of Grand River between Hilton Road and Nemco Way is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. June 25. During this closure, the eastbound I-96 on and off ramps to Grand River Avenue will remain open, and the westbound I-96 off ramp will remain open to eastbound Grand River Avenue traffic. All traffic along Grand River will be directed along eastbound I-96, Spencer Road, Old US-23 and Hilton Road.
The closure is expected to last about two months.
