Here are the Bloomington area’s post-season award winners for their work on the field and in the classroom this spring:
North, South baseball players honored
Bloomington South’s Luke Arnett and Connor Osborne and Bloomington North’s Luke Freel were named Class 4A All-State honorable mention by the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Osborne was also chosen as one of 52 to participate in the IHBCA’s three-game North/South All-Star Series at Loeb Stadium in Lafayette. North third baseman Liam Smith was one of 70 athletes invited to play in the IHSBCA’s Futures Games at the same location. The format consisted of a showcase event as well as a six-inning game for the participants.

Track and field honors
Named to the Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches’ Girls Academic All-State Team were Lilah Reed of North and Esther Crane of Eastern Greene. Honorable mention went to Clara Hawk of Eastern Greene and Ellie Vagedes of Edgewood.
The Boys Academic All-State Team includes Evan Cheng, Caelan D’Onofrio, Alan Hays, Will Steiner and Caleb Webb of Bloomington North; Leonardo Vesperini, David Jackson, Roman Ross, John Sobiech, Matt Stein and Jaxon Young and Jackson Klinger of Edgewood.
Honorable mention went to Brody Arthur and Nathan Campbell of North and Marshall Caldwell and Ezra Furr of South and Carl Norris and Luke Waugh of Edgewood.
Softball honors
Edgewood’s Ally Bland was named Class 3A/4A Third Team All-State by the Softball Coaches Association of Indiana.
Bloomington South’s Akasha Burton and Owen Valley’s Kalyn Greene named academic all state and South was named an All-Academic Team with a 3.88 GPA.
Volleyball team honors
The Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association honored Bloomington North, Edgewood and Eastern Greene among its 60 Team Academic Award winners.
Only teams with an average GPA of 3.5 and higher for the entire school year are eligible.
Girls tennis honors
South sophomore Carla Demeter was named All-District 5 by the Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association.
Edgewood’s Wren Millick was named to the Academic All-State team while South and Edgewood were named All-Academic Teams.
Boys volleyball honors
The Indiana Boys Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region 3 team includes South’s sophomore libero Dhiyaa Al-Risi on the first team and setter John Ward on the second team.
