Readers have voted in recent Eagle-Gazette polls on a variety of topics

LANCASTER − Lancaster Eagle-Gazette readers have made their voices heard through several recent online polls regarding a variety of local subjects.

For example, a recent poll asking readers for their favorite local pizza shop not located in Lancaster garnered 20,606 votes. Voters chose Amanda House of Cards with 8,593 votes. Second place went to Kingy’s Pizza in Canal Winchester with 5,657 votes.

A poll asking readers for their favorite pizza shop in Lancaster drew even more voters, 26,920 to be exact. Cristy’s Pizza won that poll with 9,411 votes. Pizza Cottage came in second with 8,054 votes.

Another poll asked readers for their favorite burger spot in Lancaster, which drew 2,754 votes. JB’s Downtown Grill won that poll with 1,182 votes, with Cherry Street Pub coming in second with 1,005 votes.

Of course, let’s not forget about ice cream, as a poll asking readers who has the best ice cream in Fairfield County attracted 27,478 voters. Schaffner’s Drive-In in Baltimore won that poll with 14,041 votes. Whitt’s Frozen Custard with locations in Lancaster and Canal Winchester was second with 11,908 votes.

But not all Eagle-Gazette polls are about food. With such heated political rhetoric going on in the country now, the newspaper asked readers if a celebrity’s political leanings influence how they view that celebrity. Thirty-nine voters said they do, 33 voters said they don’t and 15 voters said they do somewhat.

The Eagle-Gazette is currently running a poll on the best hot dogs in Fairfield County.
