Downtown Manitowoc crash between motorcycle & minivan leaves motorcyclist with significant injuries

MANITOWOC – The driver of a motorcycle suffered significant injuries after a crash with a minivan at the intersection of Maritime Drive and North Eighth Street Thursday night.

Manitowoc Police Department said in a news release that police and fire crews were called to the intersection at 7:57 p.m. July 3. When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist lying on the curb with bystanders assisting them.

The motorcyclist suffered significant injuries and was transported to a Green Bay hospital.

The driver of the minivan was cited for a failure to yield right of way violation. Neither speed nor alcohol are suspected factors in the crash, police said.
