Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 19-year-old as a suspect in an East Milton shooting July 2.
Deputies say Noah Hoffman was allegedly selling drugs to two men and one juvenile from Pensacola when he decided to rob the trio, leading to a firefight on the 7900 block of Kamie Court.
The SRSO initially said the incident was a drive-by shooting.
The trio fled in a Volkswagen before being stopped by deputies in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot on Highway 87 where deputies recovered a spent shell casing and a firearm.
“Deputies returned to the Kamie Court residence to secure the scene while awaiting a search warrant,” an SRSO release said. “Hoffman hid inside the residence.”
SWAT was deployed to the home due to Hoffman potentially remaining armed, but before the team could enter the home, Hoffman attempted to flee from the back of the house and was apprehended.
Hoffman was arrested on charges of robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with a removed serial number, three counts of aggravated assault and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
The SRSO says the other three individuals are under investigation for their alleged involvement in the incident.
