Rivals sends out conflicting message about how impressive Notre Dame’s June recruiting was

Notre Dame football had a massive June, as they added six new members to its 2026 recruiting class.

Rivals went on to name multiple schools as its top recruiting winners of the month, and interestingly omitted the Irish from the list. It’s odd as they also named two of Notre Dame’s commitments as the top in June, safety Joey O’Brien and tight end Ian Premer. Aside from Alabama, no other schools had as many on that list as the Irish.

It’s hard to argue with the list of top recruits, but for Notre Dame to be left off its top list of June winners makes absolutely no sense. Not only did they add O’Brien, the Irish on the same day landed cornerback Khary Adams, another top prospect. Many of the teams they named as winners of the month didn’t land one of the top players, but still made the list.

You have to think that if they could go back, they’d add Notre Dame to the winners, as it was clear that the Irish had a massive June. However, this just adds more fuel to the fire for Marcus Freeman and his staff, as they were once again looked over after a dominant recruiting month.
