After missing out on some high-profile recruits over the last week, the Ohio State football program will have another shot to change the narrative. That’s because priority target, and five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo, announced that he will be making his commitment on a great American holiday, the Fourth of July.
For those not near a calendar, that’s Friday, just a couple of days away, and is also Ojo’s birthday. Hopefully, it amounts to one whale of a gift for him and the Ohio State program. But for it to happen, the Buckeyes will have to beat out a few other blue bloods, including the Florida Gators, Texas Longhorns, and — yes — Michigan. Despite all four being finalists, however, Ojo himself has stated that the decision will come down to Ohio State and Texas.
Though there is optimism, it will be a mild upset for the Buckeyes to land the Texas native over the hometown Longhorns. He is thought to be a Texas lean, but we’ve seen these things finish different than we thought plenty of times before.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Ojo is ranked as the No. 7 overall prospect and second offensive tackle in the class of 2026. So yeah, landing him would be huge.
Fingers crossed.
