What's happening at UF? Antevy Hall safety alert explained

GAINESVILLE — There was a fire the afternoon of June 24 at a construction site, according to a University of Florida safety alert.

The alert went out for Antevy Hall, 1480 Inner Road, across from Broward Dining Center and just west of 13th Street. It’s also known as the Architecture Building.

UF issued a safety alert at 12:07 p.m. advising people to evacuate the building. A later alert said the fire was at a construction site and had been extinguished. There were no injuries.

As of 12:50 p.m. there was one fire truck on scene along with two UF Police Department vehicles. The vehicles cleared the scene soon after that.
