Marine with no family to receive funeral Tuesday at Sarasota National Cemetery

Marine Larry Jake Willis, a local veteran who died May 26 at age 82, is receiving a burial with full military honors at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota.

The public is invited to attend. Those wishing to do so should line up at the public information center by 9 a.m. and then proceed to the pavilion for services.

Willis was not claimed by anyone following his death, according to a news release from Service Corp. International, a national provider of funeral, cremation and cemetery services. 

His services are being provided by Sound Choice Cremation, which is located at 5200 Fruitville Road.
