The Columbus police Accident Investigation Unit said in a news release late June 23 that the adult pedestrian was crossing Alum Creek Drive just north of Williams Road when they “ran into” the tractor-trailer, which was traveling south on Alum Creek Drive.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, Downtown, but died from their injuries at 1:49 p.m., police said.

The tractor-trailer driver remained on the scene, police said.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing by the Accident Investigation Unit.
