Pollstar Magazine ranks the St. Augustine Amphitheatre second in the United States and third globally as a premier destination for live music, once again.
Tracking ticket sales from venues around the globe between Nov. 14, 2024, and May 14, 2025, Pollstar, a concert industry trade publication, underscored the “Amp’s” influential position as a live music venue.
SJC Cultural Events Inc., the nonprofit organization responsible for the Amphitheatre, said in a news release that the ranking reflects a team of dedicated professionals working to carefully curate programming for a diverse and loyal fanbase.
In the past six months, the St. Augustine Amphitheatre hosted music legends such as Diana Ross, ZZ Top, The Beach Boys, Chicago, Foreigner and Joe Bonamassa. Willie Nelson and the ever-so-popular Widespread Panic and Billy Strings also sold-out consecutive shows in the 4800-seat outdoor venue. Zach Williams, Lauren Daigle and King and Country have also performed.
The Amp’s Porch showcases smaller local bands every Saturday during its Farmer’s Markets in addition to plays and events geared to children, including the very successful Lullaby of the Rivers Festival.
Heart, Pretty Lights, WALLOWS, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and Khruangbin and seasonal performances of Mannheim Steamroller’s Christmas concert and Apex Theatre’s live performance of It’s A Wonderful Life also joined the Amp’s showcase of talent.
In February, the St. Augustine Amphitheatre celebrated the grand opening of its new merchandise shop, The Kookaburra Coffee Outpost and a newly renovated box office.
Gabriel Pellicer, CEO and president of SJCCE, described the accolade as a reminder of the Amp’s progress in the music world.
“We’ve always believed that The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is a special place, but seeing it ranked among the top three amphitheaters in the world is a reminder of how far we’ve come,” he said in a press release. “This ranking is not just about numbers ― it’s about the artists who trust us with their performances, the fans who come to see their favorite acts, and the team that works tirelessly behind the scenes to make it all happen. We’re incredibly proud to represent St. Augustine on a global stage.”
Nikki Glaser, John Legend, Bailey Zimmerman, Ringo Starr, Brad Paisley, Sierra Ferrell, and Jon Batiste are slated to entertain St. Augustine in the coming months.
“From legacy artists to fresh new voices, we strive to present a diverse mix of genres and experiences,” said Cari Baker, the Amp’s chief programming officer. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see that approach resonate with audiences, and we’re grateful to the artists and fans who make it all possible.”
City Beach Mayor and SJCCE chairman of the board Dylan Rumrell told the St. Augustine Record that the rankings were a testament to “our incredible team, loyal fans and the unique magic of live music at The Amp.”
