Linda Moshier called her years at Corning Inc. a remarkable journey, and she takes great pride in the company’s legacy.
Moshier was one of 54 people honored June 18 at Corning Inc.’s annual Service Awards Luncheon, an event dedicated to recognizing retirees who began their careers with the company 50 and 75 years ago.
“I have great pride, in part because I’m a native of Corning, and the company has always supported me,” said Moshier, who worked at Corning Inc. from 1975 to 2015. “My dad and my uncles were Corning Inc. guys and I’m sure they also received a 50-year pin. It was and is a great place to work and I truly believe that.”
Max Black, a retired Corning Inc. employee who also received a 50-year pin, called the Service Awards Luncheon a great event that makes retirees feel good about their careers.
“I’m happy to be here,” Black said. “Both my wife and I were long-term employees and it’s very nice to be appreciated.”
The celebration honored these individuals for their years of service and their invaluable impact on Corning Inc., said Wendell Weeks, Corning Inc. Chairman and CEO.
“Corning Inc.’s success is built on the commitment and passion of its people,” said Weeks. “This tradition offers time to reflect on the contributions of our retirees and the role they’ve played in shaping our nearly 175 years of life-changing innovation.”
Weeks also noted the company’s strong first quarter results that exceeded guidance, while acknowledging that Corning Inc. is “undoubtedly facing another challenging and uncertain macroeconomic and global environment.”
Weeks said that the lasting impact of retirees continues to define Corning Inc’s values, fuel innovation, and capture new growth opportunities.
“We celebrate and thank them for the legacy they leave behind and the inspiration they’ve given us for the exciting journey ahead,” Weeks said.
Jordana Kammerud, Corning Inc.’s Chief Human Resource Officer, said this event is a reminder of the enduring strength of Corning Inc. and the people who contributed to its success.
“As we celebrate these milestones, we acknowledge our deep gratitude for the foundation built by our retirees, and we look ahead with confidence,” Kammerud said.
Following his remarks, Weeks personally congratulated each of the 14 honorees who attended Wednesday’s event, presenting them with service checks as tokens for their years of dedication to Corning Inc.
