According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a 65-year-old Carleton man driving a 2012 International 4000 flat-bed truck was stopped heading northbound in the 1300 block of North Telegraph Road waiting to turn into a private drive when he was rear ended.

Police said the truck was hit by a 2012 Ford Escape driven by 30-year-old Jessica Benner of Carelton.

Benner was pronounced dead on the scene. The truck driver was uninjured.

Neither alcohol nor speed were determined to be factors in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
