'A hub for trade and business opportunities': DHL opens first Stockton area retail store

DHL recently opened its first company-owned retail store in San Joaquin County.

The new DHL ServicePoint store opened in late April, according to company officials. It is located at 526 W. Benjamin Holt Drive in Stockton. The store will offer faster and more convenient shipping domestically and internationally, company officials said.

“Stockton is a dynamic community with a growing international trade presence in California’s Central Valley area,” said Aaron Gallagher, senior vice president of commercial at DHL Express U.S., in a news release. “Our Stockton location will help us meet increasing demand for fast, reliable international shipping for consumer, B2C and B2B businesses.”

The new DHL ServicePoint location offers both international and domestic shipping services for account and non-account holders, the news release states.

“Stockton has become a hub for trade and business opportunities due to its unique inland port situated on the Delta … making it an ideal location for DHL’s first retail store in the area,” the news release states. “Many residents with global ties rely on DHL to stay connected with family and business partners abroad, while local small- to mid-sized businesses also benefit from seamless international and domestic U.S. shipping solutions.”

According to the company, the On Demand Delivery service allows users to manage and customize shipments and delivery options through the DHL mobile app. The store also offers assistance and essential packing supplies, such as DHL-branded boxes.

“In addition to its new company-owned store, DHL operates a robust network of over 3,000 independently owned DHL ServicePoint Partner locations across the U.S.,” company officials said. “These partners deliver the same fast, reliable and expedited international shipping services, along with valuable knowledge and support to help businesses expand their global reach.”

According to the news release, DHL has expanded to 30 locations across California.
