Conlan Daniel, a 6-foot, 185-pound outfielder/right-handed pitcher is transferring from the Raiders to the Cincinnati Bearcats coached by Jordan Bischel. Wright State was 40-21 (25-5 Horizon League) and Daniel played in 32 games with 29 starts.

Conlan Daniel’s Wright State résumé

The freshman finished the NCAA regional where Wright State won two games before being eliminated by Louisville, which is in the College World Series. His final numbers were a .314 batting average with six homers, 23 RBIs and 14 steals in 18 attempts.

Before Wright State, Daniel played at Moeller High School on the 2023 Ohio Division I state championship team. Moeller teammates from that squad that are also on the UC Bearcats are shortstop Charlie Niehaus and pitcher Carson Marsh.

In his senior season, Daniel hit .323 for the Crusaders with a pair of home runs, 16 RBIs and 15 steals on a team that finished 31-3.

Daniel family tree

Daniel’s father Cary is the head baseball coach at Indian Hill and took the Braves to the state tournament. He previously founded the CBC (Cincinnati Baseball Club) Marucci Blackhawks and served as head coach at Seven Hills and Wyoming.

Daniel’s younger brother Devlan is also a highly sought-after recruit who just had a football visit with the Miami Hurricanes. As a sophomore he ran for 2,260 yards for the Indian Hill football team and playing for his father’s baseball team he also has topped the Cincinnati Hills League in average (.559), home runs (six) and RBI (43). It’s believed the Bearcats also have interest in his services.

Wright State defeated UC 10-3 during the regular season, but Conlan Daniel didn’t play in that game. Three times during the season he had a trio of three-hit games, doing it twice vs. Oakland and once against Northern Kentucky.
