Two people died in a three-vehicle crash, including a semi truck, in the Village of Waukesha on June 9.
The accident occurred around 3:15 p.m. on state Highway 164 at the Lawnsdale Road intersection, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. A 91-year-old woman, the driver, and her 92-year-old man, her passenger, were killed as their northbound vehicle turned left in front of the southbound semi on Highway 164, according to a preliminary report.

The 44-year-old semi driver and the driver of a third vehicle, which was stopped at the intersection and struck by the turning vehicle after impact, were both taken to a hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening, authorities said.
After the crash, the busy intersection remained closed for several hours. According to data from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, all lanes reopened at 8:50 p.m.
An investigation is continuing, and no other information was available. The sheriff’s office has not released the names of the victims.
