The Cincinnati Reds will have a postgame concert later this summer featuring rapper Snoop Dogg, who provides vulgar lyrics in songs advocating violence and inappropriate behavior set to a negative tone. Contrast that with the uplifting music of Nat King Cole from not all that long ago. That’s what we’ve become, and that cultural change is what is wrong with America.
Snoop Dogg appeared in a music video in 2017 where he was laughing and pretending to shoot a clown dressed as President Donald Trump, which I think encouraged others to actually try. And he remains mainstream now with no pushback whatsoever.
America does take an occasional step forward, but I am so weary of seeing us keep taking so many more steps back. My interest in the Reds is diminished by just scheduling this performance.
