Former Lions long snapper Jake McQuaide reportedly escorted by police out of Ohio church

Former Detroit Lions long snapper Jake McQuaide was reportedly escorted by police out of an Ohio church on Saturday, May 31, for interrupting an afternoon Mass to question whether a priest had watched pornography on church equipment.

As first reported by WCPO of Cincinnati, the NFL veteran, who is currently a free agent after playing for the Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings in 2024, stood up during Mass to question the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Chancellor Jason Williams about Fr. Martin Bachman’s behavior.

“Please take a second. We want to put these rumors to rest. Can you answer this for me … fact or fiction,” McQuaide said in videos that were provided to WCPO.

Though McQuaide was escorted out of the building, the police do not plan on pressing charges, according to Green Township police captain Mitch Hill.

McQuaide has played for five teams over his 14-year NFL career, playing for his first 10 seasons with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams. He joined the Lions in 2023, playing in parts of nine games for the team, before moving on in 2024.
