A burger joint in Texas with hamburgers themed after President Donald Trump is making headlines after opening its fourth location in the state.
Trump Burgers officially opened in Houston in May, and features burgers branded with the president’s name, topped with a miniature American flag. Other Texas locations are in Kemah, Flatonia and Bellville.
In addition to the Trump Burger, there’s also a ‘Trump Tower’ burger, according to a menu posted on Yelp, which includes a 16-ounce burger, topped with four slices of American cheese and barbeque sauce. The restaurant also pokes fun of Trump’s democratic rivals on the menu, like President Joe Biden.
A Lebanese immigrant named Roland Beainy opened the restaurant chain, reported the New York Post, and a restaurant critic from the Houston Chronicle, Bao Ong, recently visited the new spot in Houston.
“Perhaps it’s no surprise, but the over-the-top, in-your-face marketing behind the restaurant and the politics it peddles is so loud that it distracts from the food. If we cut to the chase though, most dishes are unremarkable and far from making the Chronicle’s best burgers guide,” Ong wrote.
Still, the burger chain has received hundreds of mixed reviews on Yelp, with visitors giving the restaurant an overall rating of 4.1 stars.
“Let me just say this. This burger. Epic. It was juicy. Large. The biggest burger I’ve ever had. You know how they say Texas knows how to make burgers right? This place does Texas proud,” one review said.
“Not impressed with the food, just a money grab food place with a eye catching name, nothing special,” another person wrote on the review site.
