The FSU Seminoles beat the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats 6-2 in the first game of the Tallahassee Regional Friday at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida. The Seminoles got several clutch performances after inclement weather forced a lengthy delay.
That delay chased FSU starter Joey Volini from the game and turned everybody’s attention to the bullpen. They were ready for the spotlight, as Peyton Prescott, Chris Knier, and John Abraham pitched 6.0 shutout innings against a potent Bethune-Cookman offense.
FSU’s offense was outhit by the Wildcats 10-6, but they made their hits count. Three of their six hits left the yard as they scored four runs on three home runs. Max Williams and Chase Williams both had solo homers before Myles Bailey hit a two-run homer to retake the lead. It was the freshman’s fourth homer in three games.
The FSU fans were fired up by the great performances and the big win and took to social media to celebrate. Here is a look at the best reactions.
