Historical downtown Delaware will be teeming with art, music, stilt walkers and food to please all palates during the Delaware Arts Festival, which will take place from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. May 17 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 18.
Both sides of Sandusky Street, as well as East and West Winter streets, will be lined with more than 170 artists whose work includes paintings, jewelry, pottery, leather creations, tie-dyed art, photography and more.
Live music will begin at 12:45 p.m. each day on South Sandusky Street, where food trucks and concessions also will be located. Festivalgoers can enjoy options including Schmidt’s sausages, Maine lobster, assorted sandwiches, ice cream and fair foods.
Profits from all sales will go to the festival’s $25,000 scholarship program, which benefits three Delaware County high school seniors each year to further their art education. This year’s ceremony will be at noon May 17 on the South Sandusky Street stage.
Flex buses will be available to visitors, shuttling from 145 Union St. (behind the Delaware County courthouse) to drop-off at William and Sandusky streets.
Admission to the festival is free.
