The Detroit Lions are ready to beef up one of the NFL’s best rosters as they enter this week’s 2025 NFL Draft. They own the No. 28 overall pick in Thursday’s first round.
Lions general manager Brad Holmes, now in his fifth year running the acquisition of players, has transformed the Lions’ draft strategy with a fantastic track record. He has moved around the board in three straight first rounds and has executed 12 draft-day trades overall. He talked last week about trades, pass rush and more in his pre-draft news conference.
Let’s look at which draft picks the Lions have in 2025, with the three-day event to be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Thursday-Saturday (April 24-26).

Lions draft picks 2025
The Lions, after a 15-2 season and stunning divisional round playoff exit, have seven picks entering Thursday’s first round:
*Compensatory pick from Aaron Glenn being hired as Jets head coach.
**Received in Carlton Davis III trade in 2024.
***Received on draft night 2024 in trade up for Terrion Arnold.
The Lions do not have a third-round pick (traded to Jets in 2024 for Gio Manu draft pick).
The Lions dealt their fifth-round pick to the Browns in the Za’Darius Smith trade before the trade 2024 deadline.
The Lions traded their sixth-round pick to the Browns in the Donovan Peoples-Jones trade before the 2023 deadline.
