Morstead, 39, averaged 40.7 net yards per punt in 17 games with the New York Jets last season.

He won Super Bowl XLIV as a rookie with New Orleans in 2009 and made the 2012 Pro Bowl with the Saints.

Morstead has a career net punting average of 41.5 yards in 255 games with the Saints (2009-20), Jets (2021, 2023-24), Atlanta Falcons (2021) and Miami Dolphins (2022).

He ranks second among active players in punts (960) and punting yards (44,944) behind Johnny Hekker, who signed with the Tennessee Titans in March.

San Francisco drafted Wishnowsky in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL draft. His 40.7 career net punting average took a major hit in 2024 as he ranked last among 34 punters at 36.3 yards per punt. He missed the final eight games in of the season due to a back injury.
